About

Veterans of Hope is a veteran-owned, black woman ran and led nonprofit organization which is based in San Diego that helps Veterans have a meaningful and fulfilling reconnection to society.

MISSION

The primary mission of Veterans of Hope is to provide holistic mental health education and humanitarian aid to those in need be they domestic or international. By pairing the skills and experiences of military veterans with mental health professionals and trained volunteers, Veterans of Hope aims to provide the best education and impact possible. With the services provided, Veterans of Hope seeks to provide veterans with invaluable tools necessary to improve mental health after transitioning from the military. Veterans served to regain identity through recognizing the impact one individual can make, community through working with others to serve others, and purpose from providing humanitarian aid. Veterans of Hope also offers veterans the opportunity to teach the tools they gain to others, thus improving their surrounding communities.

GOAL

Our goal is to serve the underserved. People all over the world are suffering outwardly and internally and often in silence. Whether it’s clean water technology that’s needed or Mindfulness-based meditation practices to reduce PTS or something in between Veterans of Hope is able to help. By focusing on underserved and economically challenged communities as well as first world countries, Veterans of Hope seeks to make the largest impact possible. By providing health education and disaster relief work free of cost VH aims to help communities across the globe to heal, recover, and rebuild sooner than expected. Too often these Cries fall on deaf ears, Veterans of Hope answers the call.

Hello! My name is Ashleigh Martinez. I live in central California. I’m 29 years old. I’m a Non-traditional LVN nurse with a Health and Wellness business. I’m also a single mother to my handsome 2.5-year-old son Levi. When Ashanti and I were talking about her dreams, goals, and visions for her non-profit organization, I knew I had to be apart of the team. To be partnered up with other servant leaders to bring positivity to the world is what I want to be apart of. Veterans of Hope has given me that opportunity to help and give back to our veterans for all that they have done for us.

My Name is Kierra Burrell. I live in San Diego, Ca. I’m active-duty military, Navy, and I have currently 9 years. I’m 29 years old, born and raised in Monroe Louisiana. I’m a single mother to my handsome little 2 year old son Mason. I wanted to be able to help and give back to the world. Ashanti would tell me about this wonderful dream she had to start up a non-profit and I thought to myself, Yes! I was given an opportunity to give back to the veterans that served before me to be able to show them that someone is there. Being active duty, I can relate to what some veterans have gone through and with that shared experience, even if it’s not the exact same, I can still be able to show them compassion and understanding that is sometimes forgotten to be shown. I love making others happy because, in return that brings me happiness, just to know that I was able to make a difference in some way to somebody. I’m honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the “Veterans of Hope” team and to be working alongside such intelligent and ardent leaders!
